National Library Week Contest!

So, I’m a Teen Specialist (not officially a librarian because my degree is not in library science but in parks and rec) and therefore I love libraries.  I grew up two blocks from my local library and spent countless hours sifting through the paperback racks of Fear Street (RL Stine) and Christopher Pike and before that, Judy Blume; Baby-Sitters Club; and Beverly Cleary.  I know all you book lovers love your library too so why not be rewarded for it.

To commemorate National Library Week, April 12-18, I’m doing my first big giveaway!

  1. Activities must be performed between April 12-19 (I’m extending NLW one day).
  2. Pictures must accompany specific posts in order to count as an entry.  I’ll be checking.
  3. One prize pack per person.
  4. Contest will be done through Rafflecopter.
  5. Contest ends April 19th at 12am CST.
  6. Contest is open to US only.

  1. I honestly don’t go to the library as often as I used to growing up. The last few times I went, I brought my niece to music class and it was a lot of fun. I love that libraries have so much to offer the community. It’s so cool that one of the libraries near me now has a teen room that wasn’t there before. Hoping to start borrowing from the library more often!

  2. I LOVE LIBRARIES! I recently went to renew my card, and I was offended when they told me that I never had one. Like it was right there on my keyring, but I apparently never had a card. I was miffed.

  3. Two of my first jobs were at libraries, so they’re kind of my second home! I remember in elementary/middle school, my mom took me to the library every Friday, and I was allowed to pick out ten books, which I always devoured by the next week. Sometimes I wonder why I didn’t end up becoming a librarian myself!

  4. I love libraries because they’re such an awesome place to discover new books. I had the best middle school librarian. She recommended great books and always made sure to have plenty of new releases 🙂

  5. Ahhh, this is so lovely! I’m a HUGE fan of the library here at Hopkins – Milton S. Eisenhower. It’s gorgeous and probably where I spend the majority of my time (studying, lol). I also love the Peabody one downtown 🙂 My childhood library is one of the oldest in Maryland! It’s small, but quaint and historic. I love the vibe to it – everyone is really friendly, and there’s no shortage of awesome books and resources there.

Anyway. Thank you for the contest! You rock 🙂

  6. I love Libraries since that is what I am in college for and my mother has worked at one for as long as I can Remember. I also donate Thousands of dollars in books a year to my local library since it is sad the budget cuts that have incurred in this economy.
