ALA is over and I’m already behind on my Goodreads goal so I’m going to have to try to read 8 books in February.
Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor-I LOVED Smoke and Bone and I’m so excited for a new series by Taylor. Word on the street is that the ARCs were supposed to be available at ALA in Orlando but Taylor wasn’t satisfied with the final book and they pushed it back. On a whim, I asked the publisher at ALA Midwinter if they had it and they were only giving it out at noon on Saturday and when I got there at 11:15, the line had already begun. But as you can see by the picture, I got my copy!
Hunter by Meagan Spooner– I have not read anything by this author but everyone is talking about it so I’ll give it a go.
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belloza-This is a debut author and I’ve have bad luck with debut fantasy authors so hopefully this doesn’t suck big time.
Valiant by Lesley Livingston-The publishers at ALA were promoting this super hard so once again I’ll give it a go.
The Careful Undressing of Love by Corey Ann Haydu-This book is about cursed girls on a particular street in Brooklyn. Yes, please. I ALREADY READ THIS. PLEASE CLICK THE TITLE FOR MY REVIEW.
The City of Saints and Thieves by Natalie C. Anderson-A Kenyan girl searches for the killer of her mother. All together now-YES, PLEASE!
The Have U Give by Angie Thomas-This is already an early Printz contender and it’s January. I usually don’t read books about racial unrest but I feel like a bad librarian if I don’t read it so…
The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey-This is our selection for my teen book club. It’s supposedly uncomfortably gory.
Because I read Careful Undressing, I will try to read Conjuring of Light.
